Congratulations to the 2004 Turkey Run Champions!

A perfect day to work off the pie and gravy! Great competition lead the day to a battle of 4 teams who throughout the day faced challenge, after challenge!

On the girls side the competition was confronted regularly and all teams played with heart and soul. Their attitudes persevered, and in the end it wasn’t about being evenly matched, age, big or small, it was about having fun, and more importantly the opportunity to play lacrosse with and against its finest!

Two teams, who throughout the day succeeded the other teams by many goals, ultimately didn’t have to face each other until the end. Once they did match up it was to be 2 games in a row. Coming up with the initial win was the Quick Sticks from RI over Mass Elite Red, 11-10. With that said however, they would meet again within minutes… And in the Championship round the wheels turned, and turned fast! Taking the lead fairly quickly was Mass Elite Red by at least 4 goals. They continued to play strong, smart, and as a team to defeat the Quick Sticks for the Title, 14 – 4! I guess Mass Elite decided that the t-shirt was worth the hustle!

On the boys side the skills that were showcased throughout the day were amazing, very impressive! In the end it all came down to the final games to determine the top seeded teams for the final. Upsetting a dominating NESLL team at the end, the Mixed Bag Team brought out their secret weapons and pumped up the adrenaline to dominate and knockout the NESLL team by a 1 goal game!

Heading to the final round would be the Cohasset Insurance Team vs. Walpole. When these 2 teams first went at it, the Walpole team dominated and won by 4 goals, 14-10. With that in mind, the CI team knew they needed to step it up to pull off a win… And they did! They pulled it off and kept Walpole within 1 goal most the game, and with minutes remaining they were able to pull ahead and come through with the victory by 2 goals, 15-13 for the final. And after the game it was said perfectly by a Champion “that was a miracle”!
